The Last Great Race – The 2018 Iditarod begins March 3rd in downtown Anchorage.


Join THE MOOSE @ 96-3 and AM 700 KBYR as we broadcast live from downtown Anchorage on Saturday, March 3rd with the Ceremonial Start. The day begins with beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the presentation of the Color Guard and the National Anthem.  After the opening ceremonies, the Honorary Iditarod Musher with Bib #1 will start the race followed by Junior Iditarod Champ. Then each of the 68 mushers & their teams who are taking part in this year’s race will be introduced.


The action then shifts northward to Willow for the official Iditarod Re-Start on Sunday, March 4th.  The 2018 Iditarod is scheduled to re-start in Willow The live broadcast will begin at 1:30 p.m. on The Moose @ 96-3 Valley Radio Q99.7 and AM 700 KBYR…the official radio stations of the 2018 Iditarod.  Shelley Ryan and Eddie Maxwell will bring you all the excitement and color of both the Ceremonial Start and the Re-Start.

Beginning Monday, March 5th, listen for daily updates of the progress the teams are making as they make their way across the Last Frontier with their goal of being the first team under the Arch in downtown Nome.  You can catch three daily updates on The Moose @ 96-3, A-M 700 KBYR, Oldies 102.1, 92.1 Bob FM and Valley Radio Q99.7.
